I believe the motto at the time I attended was "A different way of thinking." I learned lifelong lessons of critical thinking and recognizing nuances in life and literature.
I teach writing at the college level and have been either teaching or tutoring writing since 2005.
I write children's books, primarily picture books but I am also in the beginning stages of a middle grade book. Oh, I'm also working on a chapter book.

I write. I teach. I mom.
I am the proud mother of two boys, ages 2 and 5.
Unlike most writers, I won't say that I always wanted to be a writer. Yes, I've always loved writing. However, I also wanted to be a doctor, journalist, and cartoon character. As you can see, those didn't quite work out.
Education has always been very important to me. I have been involved in the classroom with students ranging in age from three to adult. As a result, you can pretty much say that I have seen reading and writing skills across the learning spectrum!
In 2015, I realized I missed writing and decided to give children's writing a try. Thanks to a Twitter Pitch Party in June 2016, I landed my agent. I'm represented by Jen Hunt of The Booker Albert Literary Agency.
